The Bharat Trust logo: a gradient B beside भारत Trust, A NIXI Initiative

Trust is the hardest thing to draw. Bharat Trust is NIXI’s initiative for digital trust services, and its mark has to reassure people at the moment they hand over who they are online, often at the size of a browser tab.

The brief was a logo and a favicon, and five routes went to NIXI. Route 2, the one chosen, merges a B and a t into a single form through negative space. Two letters holding each other up is a simple picture of what trust is, and the form is bold enough to read at favicon size.

Route 4 takes the more literal path, and takes it with care. A padlock for protection, its centre a keyhole that doubles as a secure digital node, wrapped in tricolour arcs that make security feel national rather than corporate.

Every route was shown where people would actually meet it: on a phone’s home screen and in a browser tab, then on the things people carry, an ID card, a cap, a mug, a T-shirt. A trust mark is judged in seconds, often at its smallest, and that’s where these were made to work.
