Light is usually sold by its specs: watts, lumens, kelvin. This 15-second film for Orient Electric’s 3-in-1 Lights sells it through the sense it actually serves, sight, and the feeling a room gives you.

The idea is that we don’t notice light; we notice how it makes us feel. So the film starts inside an eye. With each blink the iris changes, blue for cool white, hazel for neutral, amber for warm, until the pupil becomes the downlight itself. The product is, quite literally, how you see.

Then it opens into a home where one light holds three moods. Cool white for work, at a laptop. Neutral for rest, with a book and the dog. Warm for play, a mother and daughter curled up on the sofa. One room, three different hours of a life.

Fifteen seconds leaves no time to explain, so nothing is explained. The end card simply names what you’ve already felt: “The right light for every mood. Orient 3-in-1 Lights.”
